UIC Bowhead Transport seeks a land / sea-based Marine Operations Barge Master to oversee the barge operations at all ports of call. Responsibilities include stow planning, receiving freight, documentation, reconciliation, conducting safety meetings and writing reports.

Regular travel throughout Alaska between the months of April through October is expected. Direct cargo operations, prepare voyage documentation, load and secure cargo, train crews, conduct safety risk meetings, operate cargo

Formación

• Two years of experience operating boats of various sizes (river boats preferred).
• One year of experience operating cargo delivery equipment (e.g., loaders, dozers, excavators, and various-sized forklifts).
• Two years of experience operating equipment on and off barges or other marine equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsabilidades

• Directing all aspects of barge cargo operations at any/all ports of call.
• Production of all required voyage documentation.
• Receiving cargo in preparation for voyage sailings.
• Loading and securing cargo to the vessel.
• Conducting regular safety and risk mitigation meetings.
• Training crews on all cargo operation procedures.
• Safely operate various cargo moving equipment (as needed).
• Extensive and frequent travel throughout Alaska between April & October.
