Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation is seeking an experienced Tugboat Mate to support tug and barge operations in Western Alaska under the Captain. The role focuses on navigation, towing, cargo handling, and leading a deck crew while upholding high safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have MMC, 100 Ton NC endorsement, towing endorsement, and USCG medical certification, with the ability to work in remote Alaskan conditions and aboard vessels for extended periods.

Qualifications

• MMC required for navigation and operations at sea.
• Must hold Mate endorsement (100 Ton NC) and towing endorsement.
• TWIC and USCG Medical Certificate required.
• Ability to live on the tug and work in remote Alaska conditions.

Responsibilities

• Stand navigational watch as directed by Captain.
• Lead deck operations including line handling and barge setup.
• Supervise Deckhands during cargo operations and vessel activities.
• Maintain safe deck conditions and perform routine maintenance.
• Enforce safety policies and participate in drills.
