Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–4+ years of experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems.

  • Read fire alarm blueprints and operation manuals.

Responsibilities

Alarm Technician (Construction Installation) – Allied Fire Protection

Apply now to join our team of Alarm Technicians focused on construction installation. This role involves installing, servicing and troubleshooting fire alarm systems across residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Job Responsibilities
  • Installation of fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems along with all related equipment
  • Lead and oversee the daily work schedule, delegate tasks, and manage crews to meet project deadlines and quality standards
  • Ensure project results are achieved within financial and productivity budgets
  • Accurately complete, execute and process paperwork/electronic or paperless documentation required by office and corporate management systems
  • Conduct or coordinate necessary system testing and ensure required certifications are complete
  • Instruct and train helpers, apprentices or other personnel in the basic processes of service, repair and/or system installation
  • Maintain inventory on vehicle, review and approve packing slips and handle material management
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the fire alarm manager or supervisory office

  • Support customer satisfaction and respond to survey feedback
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, organized job site
  • Teamwork – maintain positive interactions within your team, local office and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work overtime, out of town or on‑call as needed; must travel frequently within the U.S. (up to 80%)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to fly are required
  • Per diem and lodging provided in accordance with company policy
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems and installation requirements
  • Ability to read fire alarm blueprints, submittals and operation/product manuals
  • Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift and scissor lift certification preferred
  • State of Texas fire alarm license required
  • NICET Level II Fire Alarm and/or NICET Level II Special Hazards preferred
  • Understanding of NFPA codes and standards
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2–4+ years of experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems

  • Accurate completion and maintenance of all paperwork
  • Maintain vehicle and tools as per company policy

  • Experience with powered hand tools, hand tools, test equipment, multi‑meter usage, digital analyzers and commissioning devices

  • Demonstrate positive teamwork and ability to mentor and lead a crew
  • Compliance with all company safety practices and the safety handbook
  • Complete projects in a timely manner while providing high quality work and customer satisfaction
