Job summary

Huber- is seeking an entry-level IBM Power AIX Systems Engineer I focused on developing deep expertise in enterprise Unix environments, virtualization, and hardware management. You will support installation, maintenance, and day-to-day management of IBM Power Systems with a team, while adhering to company standards and procedures.

You will work with senior admins to troubleshoot complex issues and enable infrastructure improvements, integrating AIX and Linux on IBM Power hardware.

Qualifications

• Basic Unix/Linux CLI and file system knowledge.
• Understanding of server architecture and data center environments.
• Degree or equivalent certification/experience in CS/IT or related field.
• Desire to learn proprietary IBM technologies and evolve within the role.
• Ability to follow logic-based troubleshooting steps.
• Ability to collaborate effectively to achieve shared objectives.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and manage IBM Power AIX environments.
• Monitor performance, logs, and hardware alerts to ensure uptime.
• Assist in hardware setup and HMC configuration.
• Learn and deploy PowerVM and VIOS virtualization.
• Document configurations and hardware inventory accurately.
• Collaborate with senior admins to fix issues and improve infra.
• Design and deploy IBM Power with AIX/Linux
