Job summary

MSRcosmos LLC is seeking an AIX Systems Engineer to help define requirements, design and test data center tech. The role focuses on IBM Power systems, AIX OS migrations and virtualization with VIOS and VMware.

You will manage HMC, VIOS, and AIX LPARs on POWER8/9, deploy Power virtualization, and contribute scripting expertise to automation and deployment tasks.

Qualifications

• Expert in AIX skills with deep IBM Power knowledge.
• Design, build and migrate AIX clusters and POWER systems.
• Proven track record in VIO/VMware virtualization and LPARs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining requirements, designs and testing for data center tech.
• Design and build new AIX clusters and perform OS migrations.
• Manage HMC, VIOS, LPARs on POWER8/9, and deploy Power virtualization.

Job description

Location: Hartford, CT (4Days onsite,1Day remote)

AIX Systems engineer, Assist in defining requirements, designing and building data center technology components and testing efforts. Specialist in IBM Power 9 systems, with AIX operating System 6-7 .

Requirements / Qualifications : Expert in AIX skills,

12 years of relevant experience

Design and Build New clusters

AIX OS Migration from AIX 5.3/6.1 to AIX 7.1/7.2 & IBM Power Systems technology refresh from POWER4/5/6 to POWER7/8/9 systems RHEL Operating System

Managing HMC (& managing via HMC-Command line), Virtual I/O servers (VIOS) and AIX LPARs in POWER8/9 systems.

Deploying & maintaining Power virtualization(VIOS) and VMware virtualization.

Expertise in Scripting.
