Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Quality Assurance Inspector in Homestead, FL, to ensure airworthiness and compliance with 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, and 125, as well as FAA and DOD regulations. You will inspect maintenance work, review procedures, and guide technicians to resolve complex issues.

The role requires an A&P license, FAA IA, CBP clearance, and strong documentation skills to support logs, records, and quality metrics.

Qualifications

• Must obtain CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance.
• Five (5) years’ experience as aircraft/powerplant mechanic.
• Valid A&P license required.
• Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) required.
• Ability to obtain government flight line driver’s license.
• Possess United States driver’s license.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload.
• Ability to read and interpret data.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the work of Aircraft Mechanics performing maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
• Apply technical knowledge to determine proper equipment installation and operation.
• Interpret technical documentation to support maintenance decisions.
• Maintain and review logs and records; guide lower-level technicians.
• Perform safety inspections and functional tests during maintenance and repair.
• Approve or reject work to ensure compliance with customer specifications and data.
• Coordinate with the Customer Quality Assurance Representative on quality matters.
• Monitor calibration and tool-control programs; maintain related records.
• Document maintenance per QA and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure safety, training, and certification compliance across teams.
