Job summary

City of Houston is seeking an Airport Operations Coordinator - Airside for IAH Bush. The role focuses on maintaining a safe airside environment, coordinating inspections and security activities, and supporting tenant operations across the airfield.

Requires an Associate’s degree and four years of airport operations experience, plus the ability to obtain all required security badge access within six months. Applicants must be able to work shift rotations, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required or equivalent education.
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in airport operations.
  • Willingness to obtain all security badge access within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 139 and related safety standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 139 through inspections of runways, taxiways and ramps.
  • Coordinate responses to emergencies, hazmat incidents and medical emergencies per the Airport Emergency Plan.
  • Maintain airside inspections, logs and reports; coordinate with FAA and tenants.
  • Oversee airfield maintenance and construction activities for safe operations.
  • Communicate policies and lease provisions to airlines, tenants and airport personnel.
  • Ensure safety, security and productivity in airside operations.
