Job summary

Newrest is seeking a Safety Coordinator for the IAH unit to help ensure ramp safety and regulatory compliance. The role focuses on training, monitoring, and auditing safety processes at the airport.

The position emphasizes coordinating new hire safety training, performing audits, and maintaining audit records. Successful candidates will be US citizens or permanent residents with a valid driver license.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid Driver License- Active.
• Must be able to pass airport security clearance SIDA including CBP clearance.
• Knowledge of airport safety regulations preferred.
• Must be able to perform and be certified as inflight catering Driver.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

• Perform fifteen ramp safety audits per shift at the airport.
• Train and audit safety processes for the facility.
• Coordinate new hire safety training and conduct safety training.
• Track audit reports and progress using spreadsheets and online tools.
• Ensure drivers and ramp personnel work in a safe manner following regs.
• Attend work regularly and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Newrest is looking for a Safety Coordinator to be part of the team for its IAH unit. This individual will share responsibility with other Safety Coordinators to ensure the safety at the ramp. This individual will train, monitor, and audit all safety processes for the facility. The individual will spend most of their time at the airport.

Essential Functions

• Ensure that all Drivers and Ramp personnel perform their job in a safe manner in line with airport regulations and traffic laws.
• Perform fifteen ramp safety audits per shift at the airport.
• Perform other safety audits as needed.
• Coordinate new hire safety training and perform the safety training.
• Ensure all Drivers are properly trained before starting work.
• Track on spreadsheet and online the audit report and progress.
• Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Previous experience as an auditor preferred
