Job summary

Avports is seeking a highly attentive Terminal Operations Controller for Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN) to manage daily air carrier operations, gate assignments, and terminal occupancy in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred degrees in airport or aviation management and at least one year in airport operations. You will coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, ATC, and airport departments to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in airport operations or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of airport environments and ramp safety.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary airport contact for daily air carrier operations, escalating issues as needed.
• Coordinate and adjust gate assignments, aircraft parking, terminal facilities, and deicing areas based on schedules, passenger volume, weather, and irregular operations.
• Monitor terminal occupancy, passenger flow, and flight information for safety, capacity, and accuracy.
• Anticipate operational constraints and implement contingency measures during delays, disruptions, or emergencies.
• Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, Air Traffic Control, and airport departments.
