Job summary

Vanderlande in Boston is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and optimize automated airport screening systems at Boston Logan International Airport. You will troubleshoot electromechanical equipment, repair control cabinets, and support software systems to keep the checkpoint operating smoothly.

This role requires at least 5 years in field service or industrial automation, is full-time with roughly 10% travel, and demands TSA clearance eligibility and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in field service engineering, industrial automation, or related roles.
• Experience troubleshooting and/or installing UL-listed control panels and control cabinets.
• Experience with material handling systems or automated equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and respond quickly to system failures.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform unscheduled corrective maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on automated screening systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software components.
• Troubleshoot field wiring and Siemens PLC systems.
• Inspect equipment for performance and compliance.
• Document activities in the CMMS.
• Replace components as needed during maintenance.
• Manage spare parts, consumables, and tools inventory.
• Assist installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Provide guidance to customers and end users.
• Help develop improved field procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
