Job summary

United Ground Express at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is hiring for a ground handler role. You will lift baggage and cargo, push/pull carts, and assist in loading/unloading aircraft while complying with FAA regulations and airport policies.

The position requires physical stamina, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and readiness to work any shift, including overtime. Candidates must be 18+, have a valid driver’s license, pass background checks, and communicate effectively in

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must be willing to work day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass pre-employment checks and background screening.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Valid US state driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lift baggage and cargo up to 70 lbs throughout shift.
• Push/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading.
• Read and interpret aircraft load sheets and baggage tags.
• Prepare and secure aircraft for next flight.
• Operate ground equipment such as tugs and belt loaders.
• Clean aircraft interior and service lavatories.
• Communicate with flight crew using radio devices.
• Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ensure compliance with United and FAA regulations.
