Job summary

The Okaloosa County Airports system coordinates the safety, security, and daily operations of its airports in Valparaiso, FL. You will ensure compliance with FAA Part-139, TSA regulations, and county rules while managing aircraft movements, push-backs, and taxi lanes in coordination with Eglin AFB ATC.

The role requires inspections, incident response, liaison with airlines, tenants and contractors, and thorough recordkeeping to support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Aviation Management, Operations Management or related field, plus at least 2 years in commercial service or general aviation operations.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, and TSA regulations preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety, security, and daily airport operations for the Okaloosa County Airports system.
• Ensure compliance with FAA Part-139, FDOT, FDEP, and County regulations for facilities, tenants and contractor agreements.
• Manage aircraft movement, push-backs, taxi lanes, and communicate with ATC to ensure safe flow of arrivals and departures.
• Conduct facility and systems inspections and maintain orderly work environments and equipment.
• Respond to security/emergency incidents and assist with rescue when needed.
• Monitor construction progress, enforce contractor compliance, and perform resident project inspections.
• Act as liaison between airlines, FBOs, tenants, contractors, and federal/state agencies; provide passenger/tenant support and meetings.
• Maintain records and deliver reports on operations and incidents; monitor airfield advisories and communications.
