Charlotte County Airport Authority in Punta Gorda, FL seeks an Airside Operations Technician to coordinate day-to-day airport operations and ensure FAA/TSA compliance. This entry-level role requires adaptability, timely communication, and professional engagement with coworkers and customers.

qualified candidates will support airfield inspections, NOTAM coordination, safety initiatives, and incident reporting while progressing toward AAAE certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• 1 year of related experience or equivalent
• Private pilot certification is highly desirable
• AAAE certifications & accreditations are highly desirable
• FAA NF-Obs Weather Observer certification within 6 months of hire
• Valid Florida Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Represent the Airport in a professional manner under the direction of the Airside Operations Manager and Assistant Manager
• Ensure compliance with FAA 14 CFR Part 139, Airport Certification Manual, Airport Emergency Plan, Wildlife Hazard Management Plan and related regulations
• Inspect Air Operations Area, airport facilities, perimeter fencing, gates, buildings, and surrounding property; record discrepancies and arrange corrections
• Coordinate with Air Traffic Control and issue NOTAMs reflecting current airfield conditions
• Document and mitigate wildlife hazards per Wildlife Hazard Management Plan
• Engage staff and tenants on Airfield improvements and safety
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and accidents; prepare and distribute incident reports
• Provide escort through secure Air Operations Area
• Stay current on FAA/TSA advisories and inform management of changes
• Monitor driving habits and report rule violations to management
• Perform minor maintenance and assist with emergency repairs
• Take on other duties and projects as assigned by Airside Manager
