Job summary

The Tallahassee International Airport, operated by the City of Tallahassee, is seeking an Airport Operations Agent to perform inspections of airfield, perimeter and terminal areas, enforce airport rules, and coordinate customer assistance and emergency response.

The role requires an associate’s degree in aviation management or related field and one year of relevant experience; selected candidates must pass fingerprint and background checks and hold a valid Class E driver's license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in aviation management or related field.
• One year of experience in aviation, law enforcement, firefighting, emergency management or communications.
• Fingerprint background check and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform airfield, perimeter and terminal inspections.
• Enforce airport rules and regulations.
• Provide customer assistance and coordinate operations and emergency response.
• Operate airport communications center and monitor security cameras.
• Maintain activity logs and records.

Job description

$16.12 to $43.75/hourly. Anticipated hiring rate is approximately $24.00/hour.

Performs airfield, perimeter and terminal inspections, enforcing airport rules and regulations. Provides customer assistance, and other operations and emergency response coordination. Inspects airfield, terminal, perimeter and grounds for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Transportation Security Administration Regulations, airport rules and regulations, leases and agreements. Operates an airport communications center and monitors security cameras. Maintains activity logs and other records. Performs related work as required.

Minimum Training and Experience

Possession of at least an associate’s degree in aviation management, business or public administration, communications, criminal justice, or a related field and one year of experience in aviation, law enforcement, firefighting, emergency management or communications, military service, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Necessary Special Requirements

In accordance with 49 CFR Part 1542, employees must successfully complete a fingerprint-based criminal history records check and personal background check prior to employment. Must possess a valid Class E State driver's license at the time of appointment.
