The City of Chandler is seeking an experienced Airport Maintenance Senior Technician - CDL to join the CHD team. The role focuses on skilled maintenance and repair of airport grounds and equipment, with a regular schedule Wednesday through Saturday, 5:00am to 3:30pm.

Job Announcement

The City of Chandler Municipal Airport is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Airport Maintenance Senior Technician - CDL. This position is scheduled to work Wednesday through Saturday, from 5:00am to 3:30pm.

First review of applications will take place on Monday, October 5, 2026. Oral Interviews will be held the week of TBD.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part‑time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who We Are

Situated on 550 acres, Chandler Municipal Airport (CHD) is owned and operated by the City of Chandler and has been in operation since 1948. Because it is a City‑run airport, Chandler Municipal is open for public use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CHD operates as a general aviation airport, which means it is primarily used for corporate and self‑piloted business flights, sport/hobby aviation, flight training, public safety, and medical service flights.

Who We Are Looking For

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform skilled preventative maintenance and repair of the City's airport operational areas and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 3 years of experience in grounds and facilities maintenance and operations; and
• A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; and
• A Commercial Driver's License Class B with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• Maricopa County Dust Control Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• Underground Storage Tank Class A, B and C Operator Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• An Office of Pest Management License within 6 months of hire or promotion; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This is a regular full‑time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre‑employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
