Job summary

City of Wichita seeks a Maintenance Mechanic at the Airport to keep critical systems operating safely and efficiently. You will work on passenger boarding bridges, baggage conveyors, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry, performing hands-on maintenance and repairs to support secure airport operations.

Work the 2nd shift (Saturday to Tuesday, 1:00pm–11:30pm). You may be required to pass background checks and drug testing; must be authorized to work in the United States; a valid Kansas drivers license

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in skilled trades or electro-mechanical systems troubleshooting.
• Valid drivers license; must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Preferred: one year of experience with baggage conveyor systems or airport equipment; Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structures, systems and equipment to evaluate need for repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of plumbing and HVAC systems, including lubrication and filter replacement.
• Maintain, repair and rebuild pumps, valves, gauges, wiring, switches, fixtures and motors.
• Install doors; patch cement walks, floors and foundations; install shelving and cabinetry; painting and refinishing; remodels.
• Record labor, materials and codes; operate vehicle as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on passenger boarding bridges and baggage conveyors; assist with snow and ice removal.
