Job summary

State of Hawai'i Department of Transportation (DOT) is recruiting for an Airport Maintenance and Repair Supervisor. The role oversees a team of airport maintenance workers, directing repair of facilities, equipment, and aircraft operations at a primary airport.

Supervisory duties include planning, scheduling, and training. Qualifications include eight years in building and equipment repair, with at least four years as a fully competent worker and one year in supervisory roles.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of work experience in building and equipment repair, with four years as a fully competent worker and one year in supervision.
• Knowledge of maintenance and repair methods, safety procedures, and the tools used in carpentry, painting, plumbing and masonry.
• Ability to plan, lay out, assign, review work, and provide training; read blueprints; estimate time and materials; keep records.
• Must have a valid Hawaii driver's license (Type 3).
• Pre-employment SIDA clearance and background checks are required for unescorted airport access.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of airport maintenance repairers and direct maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and aircraft operations.
• Plan and schedule work, assign tasks, and review performance for other workers.
• Prepare oral and written reports; manage inventories and overall operations at a primary airport.
