Job summary

High Flying Foods at Denver International Airport is hiring a Line Cook to join our New Belgium Restaurant team. You will prepare, cook, and plate menu items to order, maintaining recipes, portions, and presentation in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience working as a line cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, managers, and customers.
• Ability to memorize and follow recipes, accurately measure ingredients, and adhere to food preparation guidelines.
• Demonstrated knife handling skills and proficiency with kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices.
• A valid Food Handler’s Card (or willingness to obtain during training as required by law).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate food to order according to our recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
• Follow safety protocols and kitchen practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.
• Set up and maintain an organized, clean kitchen station daily, ensuring all ingredients, tools, and equipment are stocked and ready for service.
• Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain the quality and freshness of our products.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Complete prep lists and other kitchen checklists to ensure all tasks are handled before service begins.
• Execute cleaning duties as assigned to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.
