Job summary

High Flying Foods is hiring a Line Cook for the Nixtaco and Bawk Restaurants at Sacramento International Airport. You will prepare, cook, and plate items to order, follow recipes, and uphold high standards in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting.

The schedule runs 3:30am–12:00am, seven days a week. We offer $24 per hour plus tips, free meals, parking, and benefits including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan with a 5% match.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with teammates and customers.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
• Proficiency with knife work and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to memorize recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate food to order according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
• Set up and maintain an organized, stocked, and clean work station daily.
• Properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and ensure proper functioning.
• Complete prep lists and checklists before service starts.
• Assist with cleaning duties to maintain sanitary conditions.
• Communicate with the manager at shift start and end to coordinate tasks.
• Perform other tasks as needed for smooth kitchen operations.
