Job summary

City of Manchester, NH is seeking an Airport Maintenance Operator II - Aviation to lead custodial and landscaping tasks around the Airport, operate heavy equipment, and ensure adherence to FAA safety regulations. The role collaborates with airport staff and tenants to maintain safe, clean grounds and facilities.

The position requires 0–2 years in custodial or landscaping work or related heavy equipment experience, with a CDL-B and on-call status.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Zero to two years of custodial, landscaping, or heavy equipment experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead worker for custodial and lawn care duties.
• Care for lawns, plants and trees around the Airport.
• Operate heavy equipment (street sweeper, dump truck, loader, backhoe).
• Enforce Airport security regulations.
• Serve on the emergency response team.
• Work with the Airport Building Technician team.
• Monitor custodial work and equipment.
• Set up rooms for meetings and conferences.
• Report incidents or accidents at the Airport.
• Guide and train new employees.
• Keep supervisors informed of progress and issues.
• Attend meetings and trainings.
• Respond to citizen inquiries courteously.
• Coordinate with other departments for efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as required.
