Job summary

The City of Manchester is seeking an Airport Operations & Maintenance Specialist to perform maintenance, inspection, and safety duties on the airfield and associated facilities. This role involves operating heavy equipment, performing repairs, and coordinating with the Airport Control Tower to ensure safe operations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 0-2 years of related experience, and a valid CDL-B license within six months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Zero to two years of general construction and heavy equipment operation experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain airfield facilities and perform snow removal and concrete work.
• Operate heavy equipment including Jet Air six-wheel truck, backhoe loader, 4WD loader and other heavy machinery.
• Monitor and enforce FAA guidelines and airport security rules and regulations.
• Respond to airfield emergencies and coordinate with control tower.
• Perform daily safety inspections of runways and aircraft areas.
