Job summary

City of Wichita is seeking an administrative and managerial leader to oversee the Airport Grounds and Fleet Division, including maintenance of all WAA-owned vehicles, airfield pavement, signage, landscaping, and irrigation. You will direct supervisors, operators, and mechanics, set goals, and evaluate progress.

Responsibilities include budgeting, coordinating with FAA and tenants, managing contracted services, asset inventories, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of supervisory experience overseeing maintenance/field staff or contractors.
• Five (5) years of experience in regulatory compliance environments.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain TSA/DHS background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Establishes performance standards, and evaluates subordinate staff.
• Monitors and oversees compliance with City, department and division policies and procedures.
• Establishes work priorities, goals, objectives and schedules of the division.
• Prepares and administers annual operating budget for division, and maintains fiscal/budgetary compliance within budget limits.
• Communicates with tenants, operators, airlines, the FAA ATCT, and other airport divisions regarding routine maintenance.
• Manages airfield painting and sign management in accordance with FAA regulations and guidance.
