Job summary

City of Arlington is seeking a dedicated airport maintenance worker to inspect, maintain and repair airfield infrastructure under FAA guidelines. Duties include cleaning and mowing, electrical maintenance, NOTAM coordination, and security checks around runways and facilities.

This position also covers storm water monitoring and general building upkeep. Applicants must meet FAA-related knowledge, have a valid driver's license, and be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; two years of college or higher education accepted.
  • Valid Driver's License, Class C.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and airport operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform airfield inspections, maintenance and repairs per FAA 139.337/139.307 as required.
  • Operate snow/ice removal equipment and ensure safe runway conditions.
  • Maintain airfield lighting, signs and fencing; repair pavement as needed.
  • Perform WHMP tasks and notify authorities of hazards; document airside conditions.
  • Provide building/equipment maintenance and storm water monitoring per SWPPP.
  • Issue NOTAMs and coordinate with FAA NOTAM manager system.
