Job summary

Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority is seeking a Security Officer at RDU to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through busy airport roadways and help maintain a secure, well-coordinated environment. The role emphasizes safety, alertness, and strong customer service in an outdoor, fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates will have at least a High School diploma, 1+ year in security or related fields, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year or more years of Security, Traffic Control, or Customer Service experience preferred.
• Current and active driver's license preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors and follow safety procedures in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around terminals.
• Patrol terminals, parking areas, and airport perimeter.
• Respond to alarms and unusual activity.
• Walk or stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Support emergency responders as needed.
• Assist passengers with directions, parking, and airport information.
• Enforce airport traffic and security rules.
• Complete written reports and logs.
