The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority is seeking a Security Officer to help safeguard RDU International Airport and ensure smooth operations for vehicles and pedestrians through busy roadways and indoor/outdoor spaces.

The role requires at least 1 year of security, traffic control, or customer-service experience, a high school diploma, and a current driver's license. Rotating shifts, on-site responses, and comprehensive benefits accompany this essential position.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around terminals.

• Walk or stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Support emergency responders (Police, Fire, EMS).
• Assist passengers with directions, parking, and general airport information.
• Enforce airport traffic and security rules.
• Complete written reports and logs.

About the Role:

Step into a role where every day feels like the heartbeat of the airport. As part of our team, you’ll serve as a “ground traffic controller,” guiding vehicles and pedestrians safely through busy roadways while helping maintain a secure and well-coordinated environment.

Previous safety experience is preferred, but have you worked in construction, landscaping, transportation, public works, customer service, or another hands-on position? Your experience working outdoors, following safety procedures, communicating with others, and staying alert in busy environments could prepare you for a career as a Security Officer at RDU.
