Job summary

Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard grounds and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around the on-site RDU campus. The role involves outdoor work, incident reporting, and collaboration with emergency responders in a fast-paced airport environment.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma, a valid driver’s license, and experience in security or customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in security, traffic control, or customer service preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and variable hours.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around terminals.
• Patrol terminals, parking areas, and airport perimeter.
• Respond to alarms and unusual activity.
• Walk or stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Support emergency responders (Police, Fire, EMS).
• Enforce airport traffic and security rules.
• Complete written reports and logs.
