Job summary

Menzies Aviation seeks a Gate Coordinator to manage wheelchair services at the airport, coordinating between wheelchair agents, gate agents, airline personnel, and passengers. You will monitor requests, dispatch staff, and track movements to ensure service standards are consistently met.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, strong computer skills, and 18+ years of age, with prior airport or customer service experience and supervisory exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have good working knowledge of office environment software applications (word-processing, spreadsheet, data management).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous airport and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Treat all information as confidential.
• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.
• Ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
• Must communicate in English clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate wheelchair and mobility assistance services for arriving, departing, and connecting passengers.
• Monitor wheelchair service requests and ensure passengers are assisted within established service standards.
• Dispatch wheelchair agents to gates, aircraft, terminals, baggage claim areas, and other locations.
• Monitor status and location of wheelchair agents and assignments during the shift.
• Coordinate passenger transfers and connections requiring wheelchair assistance.
• Communicate schedule changes to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor staffing and equipment levels to support demand.
• Reassign personnel as needed to address passenger volumes.
• Assist with prioritizing wheelchair requests based on needs and schedules.
• Maintain awareness of arriving/departing flights and wheelchair demand.
