Job Summary:
The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising all functions of the airline customer service operations, including auditing flight paperwork for compliance, completing personnel evaluations on leads and trainers, coordinating proper handling of OJIs, ensuring safety compliance, attending safety and team meetings, managing personnel coverage, and liaising with airline customers and airport authorities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment.
- Reporting discrepancies in functional and mechanical aspects of ground support equipment.
- Coordinating with carriers to meet cargo and baggage service needs for on-time schedules.
- Ensuring equipment is operational and safe.
- Collaborating with other supervisors and managers across departments.
- Determining manpower needs and conducting disciplinary procedures fairly and promptly.
- Maintaining attendance and punctuality standards.
- Performing under pressure within fixed time constraints.
- Reading and interpreting aircraft weight and balance instructions, hazard labels, and baggage routing tags.
- Complying with all relevant federal, state, municipal, airport, and carrier regulations.
- Briefing crews before flights on their roles and procedures.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Airline Customer Service.
- Experience in Airport Ground Handling.
- Computer proficiency (6+ months) with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to navigate electronic devices.
- Proven supervisory experience in a business environment.
- Operational planning and resource allocation skills.
- Knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.
- Understanding of commercial aviation issues.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Ability to process information timely.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Basic computer literacy.
- Previous ramp or airline experience.
- Ability to complete all training and maintain certifications.
- Successful FBI fingerprint background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical fitness to perform duties including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Repetitive lifting of up to 70 pounds.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions with exposure to loud noises.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Availability for extended hours during non-routine operations.
