Job summary

Broward County is seeking a Customer Service Representative (Full-time) in the Administration Guest Experience Division at the Aviation Department, serving Fort Lauderdale’s airport community. The CSR will guide passengers through the international arrivals experience, assist with crowd management and provide information to help travelers understand delays and local services.

Candidates must have at least one year of customer service or related experience, hold a valid Florida driver’s license,

Qualifications

• Requires one (1) year in customer service or customer relations or closely related experience.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license during employment and maintain authority to drive on County business.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge and Customs Seal.
• High School diploma or GED
• Two (2) years of experience in customer service, customer relations, travel and tourism, hospitality, or aviation industry.
• Ability to speak, read or write any languages, in addition to English.

Responsibilities

• Interact with passengers who speak varying languages and answer questions in a professional manner.
• Stand and walk for up to seven hours during an eight-hour shift in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow written and oral instructions; express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Work independently or as part of a team and remain professional with diverse groups.
• Resolve problems for the public, staff, and tenants, including those not fluent in English.
• Provide flight and airport information and local area details to passengers.
• Identify and anticipate customer needs and proactively assist.
• Prioritize, multi-task and complete assigned tasks; rotate shifts including mornings, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
