Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Full Time Customer Assistance Representative at the Pittsburgh International Airport. You will greet customers, assist with self-service kiosks, manage baggage processing, and help ensure documents comply with FAA policies while delivering professional service.

Starting pay is $16.58 per hour. You will follow DOT/FAA/TSA rules, work varied shifts including holidays, and use multiple internal systems to assist travelers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or international equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers when they enter the airport or arrive in the ticket area.
• Monitor the ticket counter area to ensure it is in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist customers with self-service kiosk check-in and kiosk baggage processing (e.g., printing boarding passes and receipts).
• Service and maintain kiosk machines (e.g., load paper, clean surfaces).
• Troubleshoot kiosk technology issues to identify the source of issues or errors.
• Verify that customers’ carry-on baggage complies with FAA/American Airlines policies.
• Verify and clear travel documents for customers traveling internationally using Timatic in kiosk.
• Assist customers with checked baggage processing (e.g., completing credit card transaction, self-tagging).
• Queue lines in ticket counter areas based on departure times or type of assistance.
• Activate self-tagged baggage at activation station.
• Move baggage within the ticket counter area.
• Assist customers with checking assistive devices and oversized items.
• Refer customers to customer service agents when appropriate.
• Perform clearance and verification of documents at kiosks.
• Assist with movement of non-ambulatory customers as they board or deplane.
• Assist unaccompanied minors with boarding or deplaning.
• Provide gate information and directions.
• Perform paging activities as needed.
• Complete job trainings and adhere to regulations and policies.
• Wear uniforms as required.
