Job summary

PMA Consultants Careers seeks an experienced Construction Manager to provide owner-side field leadership for a cargo facility relocation project at San Francisco International Airport. You will oversee day-to-day construction activities, coordinate contractors, ensure safety and quality, and manage field progress around active airport operations.

Final placement will reflect the candidate’s experience, with opportunities across multiple levels.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant construction management experience in complex commercial/aviation/capital projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline.
• Field leadership experience in active airport or similarly complex operational environment, able to independently oversee contractors and multiple workstreams.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, quality management, scheduling, inspections/testing, document control, field change management, commissioning, and closeout.
• Experience coordinating operational shutdowns and phased construction.
• Cargo/logistics/warehouse facility construction experience preferred.
• SFO or airline owner-representative experience preferred.
• California PE license, CCM, PMP, or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preconstruction and field planning including constructability, phasing, site logistics, sequencing, shutdowns, tie-ins, and coordination around active operations.
• Provide day-to-day oversight of contractor activities and document progress, field conditions, constraints, deficiencies, staffing, and follow-up actions.
• Monitor compliance with safety, security, access-control, quality, inspections/tests, and corrective-action requirements.
• Manage field documentation and facilitate RFIs, submittals, design clarifications, unforeseen conditions, and record-document requirements.
• Review field changes and assist in validating scope, quantities, constructability, and schedule impact.
• Coordinate commissioning, turnover, punch-list, closeout documentation, and final acceptance requirements.
• Maintain coordination with contractors, consultants, airport stakeholders, and project team members.
