Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a limited-term civil engineering intern to perform construction inspection on airport projects based in Seattle, WA, with travel to OR/WA project sites. The internship runs May/June 2027 through August/September 2027.

The ideal candidate has completed at least two semesters of civil engineering coursework and has exposure to AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MS Office, plus an understanding of grading, testing, and airport planning concepts. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Two semesters of civil engineering coursework completed by date of hire.
• Previous internships in construction, DOT projects, or civil site inspections are advantageous.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers, technicians and construction managers on airport projects (taxiways, runways, aprons).
• Take measurements, perform quantity calculations, and prepare pay estimates.
• Contribute to project reports and field inspection documentation.
• Conduct basic research and writing as needed.
• Support additional tasks as assigned.
