Job summary

Runza National Inc. (operated by Plum Market Food Service at Omaha Eppley Airfield) seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead daily operations, guest service, and quality standards in a high-volume airport setting.

You will support the GM, recruit and train Team Members, manage schedules, control costs, and uphold safety and brand standards while delivering Simply Outstanding Service. The role requires 2–3 years of leadership in food service, ServSafe certification, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of leadership in food service, hospitality or retail.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with inventory systems, food safety and scheduling tools.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pass airport background check and badging.
• Experience in airport or high-volume service.
• ServSafe or similar certification.
• Knowledge of back-office systems, timekeeping and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations including guest service, food prep, staffing and cleanliness.
• Lead shifts in GM's absence and maintain service standards.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, scheduling and training.
• Train and coach team members using Runza guides and procedures.
• Provide performance feedback and handle evaluations.
• Hands-on work with team during peak periods.
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, portion control and waste reduction.
• Monitor food safety, sanitation and airport security compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and uniform standards.
• Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns.
• Assist with labor management, sales tracking and expenses.
• Ensure cash handling, reconciliations and payroll documentation.
• Support scheduling to meet labor targets.
• Identify operational improvements and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate updates to the General Manager.
• Promote positive culture and Runza's Make It All Better philosophy.
• Represent Runza brand standards in daily operations.
