SkyWest Airlines in Lafayette, IN is seeking an Airport Agent to deliver excellent customer service, assist with ticketing and rebooking, and support passengers with special needs. The role involves outdoor work in all weather and requires flexibility for varied shifts.

The position is part-time, with duties spanning baggage handling, boarding, and on-aircraft tasks. Training is provided to ensure safety and efficiency on the ramp.

Competenze

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Mansioni

• Load and unload luggage, airfreight, and company mail onto/off aircraft.
• Greet passengers, issue tickets, provide seat assignments, check baggage, board flights, rebook passengers.
• Escort passengers and customers with special needs safely and courteously.
• Marshal aircraft in and out of the ramp area.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Service aircraft as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary Job Duties

Airport agents are primarily responsible for ensuring excellent customer service while performing a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to ticketing and rebooking passengers, boarding flights, assisting passengers with special needs, resolving customer concerns, and more.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customer luggage, airfreight, and company mail onto and off aircraft
• Greet passengers, issue tickets, provide seat assignments, check baggage, board flights, assist customers who arrive without their luggage, and rebook passengers, all in a prompt and friendly manner
• Escort passengers and customers with special needs safely and courteously
• Marshal aircraft in and out of the ramp area
• This position requires you to work outside in all weather conditions
• Service aircraft as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Possess a valid, unrestricted, state-issued driver’s license
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Pass a background check and drug screening
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Basic knowledge of fundamental computer programs for record-keeping and baggage routing
• Lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Adaptability to changing priorities and effective time management skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• This position requires a flexible schedule, including split shifts that may occur during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• This is a part-time position
• $16 per hour

Physical And Other Requirements

• Candidates must be available to attend full-time training during the first 1-3 months of employment. Full-time training generally consists of 7-8 hour classroom days, Monday through Friday. Additional on-the-job training will be scheduled around current flight schedules and may include early mornings or overnight hours.
