Job summary

Allegiant Air seeks a General Manager to lead the base management team for Flight Ops, Inflight and Maintenance at Des Moines. You will drive On-Time Performance, safety compliance and customer service excellence, coordinating with airport authorities and service providers.

The role requires review of operations, development of cost controls, staff coaching and succession planning, with a focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the US; pass criminal background check.
• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years airline operations experience; 2 years management experience preferred.
• Experience leading managers; cross-functional leadership.
• Able to assess emergencies; reside within 60 minutes of airport.
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent customer service focus.
• Must be at least 24 years old; valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Willing to travel at least twice yearly.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain safety compliance of aircraft, customers, facilities and employees.
• Coordinate base operations for Flight Ops, Inflight, and Maintenance personnel.
• Lead base management team to improve On-Time Performance and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with Federal directives and security requirements.
• Manage station expenses and cost control program.
• Develop airport relations with city officials, FAA, TSA, OSHA, and other groups.
• Oversee service provider contracts (fueling, skycap, security, catering, cleaning, ground handling).
• Ensure training for all employees and monitor training issues.
• Lead investigations for safety, security issues, or OJIs (G4).
• Communicate airline business to internal and external departments and customers.
• Establish goals, measure performance, and implement improvements.
• Develop succession plan (G4 stations only).
• Participate in interview, hiring, and staffing requirements (G4 stations only).
• Establish cost-efficient work schedules for station employees, including irregular operations plans.
