Job summary

Astronomer is seeking an Airflow Reliability Engineer to join the Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) team. You will provide Apache Airflow expertise to customers of our managed Airflow service and help ensure mission-critical workflows run reliably.

As part of a fully distributed team, you will learn across data engineering, Kubernetes, cloud engineering, and product aspects while solving challenging Airflow problems. Expect an in-person interview as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Data Engineering background.
• 4 years of experience with Python.
• 1 year of experience in Airflow administration and DAG creation.
• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker/Containers.
• Experience working with distributed systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work with autonomy and independence.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers via ticketing and Zoom.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Learn and build expertise across software engineering disciplines including Airflow and data engineering.
• Work with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud technologies.
• Assist customers with Airflow reliability and production readiness.
