City of Cleveland seeks an Burke Airport Operations Superintendent to oversee airport operations at Cleveland Hopkins Intl or Burke Lakefront Airport. The role supervises Operations staff, schedules work, and ensures compliance with FAA regs and NOTAMs while coordinating with airlines, FAA, and other authorities.

Responsibilities include managing snow/ice control, wildlife, security events, and emergency responses.

Qualifikationen

• Associate’s Degree in Aviation, Airport Management, or related field required.
• Six years of full-time paid experience as an airport operations agent, two of which may be in an airport operations-related field, required.
• Experience at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport preferred; substitutions allowed for education gaps.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License required; typing and general computer skills incl. MS Office.
• Must pass TSA fingerprint-based background check.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds; willing to work outdoors in all weather in a 24-hour operation.

Aufgaben

• Assigns daily shift duties and supervises Operations staff.
• Prepares work and staffing schedules for the Operations office.
• Monitors airfield operations and NOTAMs; coordinates weather-related responses.
• Supervises snow removal, crash and rescue, construction, and vehicle movement activities.
• Coordinates security-related events and emergency response efforts.
• Communicates with airlines, FAA ATC, and other government entities as required.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and maintains field condition reports.
• Trains and guides staff; supports performance management and safety programs.
