L3HHCM20 in Greenville, TX is seeking a Specialist, Electrical Engineer (Instrumentation Engineer Aircraft Systems) to develop instrumentation systems for component tests, lab integration, and aircraft ground/flight tests. The role spans system architecture, assembly, installation, data collection, and flight-line operations.

Responsibilities include CAD design, data reduction, and interfacing with avionics and propulsion systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of developing instrumentation systems for component tests, system integration lab tests, and aircraft ground/flight tests experience.
Graduate Degree with two (2) years of developing instrumentation systems for component tests, system integration lab tests, and aircraft ground/flight tests experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of developing instrumentation systems for component tests, system integration lab tests, and aircraft ground/flight tests experience.
Must successfully pass Class III Flight Certification (Flight Physical, Altitude Chamber, Ground Survival Training, Water Survival Training).
Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

Develop instrumentation system architecture and select components, program systems, and document configurations via drawings, schematics, and reports.
Assemble the physical instrumentation system and ensure proper function and calibration.
Implement the system including installation, operation, data retrieval, and data reduction.
Operate and maintain instrumentation systems during test efforts; some flights may occur onboard aircraft.
Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Hands‑on electrical and mechanical skills (soldering, harness fabrication, troubleshooting).
Capable of using CAD software.
Familiar with sensor measurement capabilities (temperatures, pressure, flow, vibration, acoustic, position, strain, load, voltage, current).
Familiar with data acquisition: LabVIEW, PXI, C-Rio, C-DAQ, Encoders, Telemetry, serial communication, avionics data bus communication.
Understanding of aircraft systems and how they operate.
Developing and operating instrumentation systems.
Working around aircraft during flight line operations.
Strong communication skills to interface with aerodynamics, structural dynamics, acoustics, mechanical systems, stress, and avionics teams.
Coordination to communicate test activities and schedules between directors, engineers, managers, pilots, and customers.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
