Job summary
Aerotek is seeking an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic in Converse, TX to perform heavy structural repairs, maintenance and modifications on F/A-18 aircraft in a depot setting. The role requires drilling with carbide drills and piloted reamers on composite, titanium, and aluminum, with two shifts and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications
- 3 - 8+ years of experience in depot-level or heavy checks on aircraft.
- Experience with F/A-18 family jets (F/A-18F, F-18, Super Hornet).
- Knowledge of sheet metal modifications and heavy maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct heavy structural repairs and maintenance on F/A-18 Aircraft.
- Execute modifications on aircraft structures per specifications.
- Utilize carbide drills and piloted reamers for drilling on composite and titanium materials.
- Employ high-speed steel and cobalt drills for aluminum modifications.
- Perform depot-level maintenance and equipment overhauls.
- Implement corrosion control measures on aircraft structures.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards during maintenance.
