Job summary

AAA USA Inc. in Columbus, MS is seeking an experienced Aerospace Sheet Metal Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will work on aircraft components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies in the sheet metal area, performing riveting, drilling, and fitting to precise specifications.

Requirements include a minimum of six years related experience; ability to read blueprints and diagrams; measurement inspection; English reading/writing speaking. A&P license is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Read detailed plans and diagrams and inspect parts for defects.
  • Read blueprints and schematics, and apply shop practices for sheet metal modifications.
  • Fit and assemble skins, frames, and sub-assemblies including tail booms and stabilizers.
  • Communicate findings and work with inspectors to verify proper assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Read detailed plans and diagrams and inspect and measure parts prior to assembly, making sure parts are free of defectsandare the right size.
  • Install Sheet metal parts and assemblies in aircraft; assure that installations are attached without endangering aircraft structure or systems operations and functions.
  • Fitting and assembling skins, frames, and other components. Work will consist of drilling, fitting, and riveting of the many sub-assemblies of the helicopter, including such items as tail booms and stabilizers.
  • Work with inspectors to run tests to determine whether the parts are assembled properly.

You will be part of the team to perform work on assigned aircraft, assemblies, and parts in sheet metal area.

Essential Functions:
  • Read detailed plans and diagrams and inspect and measure parts prior to assembly, making sure parts are free of defectsandare the right size.
  • Install Sheet metal parts and assemblies in aircraft; assure that installations are attached without endangering aircraft structure or systems operations and functions.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of six (6) years related experience; some experience may be substituted for education normally acquired in the attainment of an A&P license or a degree directly related to aircraft sheet metal or composite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams, and apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs.
  • Current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
