Job summary

AAA USA Inc. is seeking an experienced aerospace sheet metal professional to join our Columbus, MS-based team. The role involves performing work on aircraft, assemblies, and parts in the sheet metal area, with emphasis on reading plans, inspecting parts, and ensuring proper installation.

Responsibilities include fitting and assembling skins and sub-assemblies, drilling, riveting, and coordinating with inspectors to validate correct assembly, with relocation to Columbus, MS as required.

Qualifications

  • Read detailed plans and diagrams and inspect and measure parts prior to assembly, ensuring correct size and defect-free.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams and apply shop practices in fabrication and repair of aircraft structures.

Responsibilities

  • Install sheet metal parts and assemblies in aircraft and ensure installations do not compromise structure or systems.
  • Fit and assemble skins, frames, and sub-assemblies including tail booms and stabilizers; drill, fit and rivet components.
  • Work with inspectors to run tests to verify proper assembly.

You will be part of the team to perform work on assigned aircraft, assemblies, and parts in sheet metal area.

Essential Functions:
  • Read detailed plans and diagrams and inspect and measure parts prior to assembly, making sure parts are free of defectsandare the right size.
  • Install Sheet metal parts and assemblies in aircraft; assure that installations are attached without endangering aircraft structure or systems operations and functions.
  • Fitting and assembling skins, frames, and other components. Work will consist of drilling, fitting, and riveting of the many sub-assemblies of the helicopter, including such items as tail booms and stabilizers.
  • Work with inspectors to run tests to determine whether the parts are assembled properly.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of six (6) years related experience; some experience may be substituted for education normally acquired in the attainment of an A&P license or a degree directly related to aircraft sheet metal or composite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams, and apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs.
  • Current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
