Job summary

McEntire JNGS Fire Department is seeking personnel to provide 24/7 emergency response across aircraft, structural, vehicular, and medical incidents. The role includes protecting evidence, performing salvage/overhaul, and conducting fire prevention inspections to ensure base facilities meet established codes.

Successful candidates must be 18+, hold a high school diploma or GED, and maintain a State driver’s license.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
Must possess and maintain a current State driver’s license.
Must meet NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II; NFPA 1072 HazMat Awareness/Operations; NREMR ARFF within 12 months of employment.
Must pass annual medical exam to NFPA 1582 medical standard.
Must obtain United States Air Force Motor Vehicle Operator's card during training.
Subject to substance abuse testing per State Laws.
Essential Employee; may be recalled 24 hours a day.

Responsibilities

Maintain 24-hour response capability to all emergency calls across aircraft, structure, vehicle, medical and other incidents.
Protect evidence, and perform salvage and overhaul of fire scenes; coordinate with responding agencies.
Perform fire prevention inspections of base facilities for code compliance and for new/existing construction.
Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on assigned vehicles/equipment to ensure readiness and detect deficiencies.
Maintain proficiency with all vehicles/equipment and perform corrosion control as scheduled.
