M1 Support Services in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II – Structures to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and equipment, following the Performance Work Statement and industry standards. You will work on structures, flight controls, engines, hydraulics, and more, ensuring airworthiness and compliance.

The role requires five years in military aircraft structures maintenance with an Air Force 5 level or equivalent, and three years on F-117A is highly desired.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Aircraft Mechanic II – Structures will primarily perform all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft and equipment maintenance, both on and off equipment, on assigned aircraft and equipment as per the Performance Work Statement, M1 policy, DAFI 21‑101, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
• Maintain and repair aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
• Use technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition or operation.
• Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints and manufacturer’s manuals.
• Work under technical guidance from a supervisor or higher‑level technician; may lead teams on complex tasks and maintain aircraft logs and records.
• Prioritize workload to meet project schedules.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum five years performing aircraft structures maintenance in a military environment; attainment of an Air Force 5 level (or equivalent) required. Three years on F‑117A highly desired.
• Reliable, self‑motivated, able to handle stressful situations and tight timelines while maintaining a professional attitude.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and part replacement.
• Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
• Proficiency with aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
• Working knowledge of technical publications, maintenance directives, data reporting, and use of technical data.
• Knowledge of U.S. Air Force supply and efficiency reporting procedures.
• Knowledge of proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
• Maintain qualifications on the Special Certification Roster.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
• High school diploma or GED.

Working Conditions

• Comply with unique commuting/travel requirements.
• Work in aircraft hangars and on aircraft ramps near running equipment.
• Perform work days, nights, weekends, or overtime as required.
• Work outdoors in hot or cold weather; exposure to contaminants and hazardous conditions possible.
• Exposure to loud, persistent noise; use of PPE such as safety toe footwear, safety glasses, etc. is required.
