Job summary

Kay & Associates, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II (Avionics/Electrician) to support F-15E aircraft at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. The role is a full-time onsite position requiring SECRET clearance, CAC, and the ability to work various shifts.

Responsibilities include maintenance, installation, inspections, and documentation per AFI standards. The ideal candidate has 3+ years avionics/electrical experience, fiber optic skills, and a proven ability to follow technical directives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years avionics/electrical experience, preferably on F-15E.
  • Fiber optic cable installation, inspection and testing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work day, swing, or mid-shift; SECRET clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform F-15E avionics/electrical maintenance, inspections, and modifications.
  • Install fiber optic cable, inspect, test and modify as required.
  • Document maintenance actions in applicable logs and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, FOD, ESD and tool-control requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

AIRCRAFT MECHANIC II [AVIONICS / ELECTRICIAN] (23022)

Location: 4 th MXG Seymour Johnson AFB, NC
Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite
Clearance: SECRET | CAC required

Summary

Supports aircraft maintenance, equipment installation, and modification functions on F-15E aircraft in accordance with the Air Force technical directives, applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.

Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting F-15E aircraft, performing maintenance and modification operations.

Essential Functions

  • Perform F-15E avionics/electrical maintenance, equipment installation, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification in accordance with applicable technical data and TCTOs
  • Perform fiber optic cable installation, cleaning, inspection, testing, and related modification tasks in accordance with applicable technical data
  • Accurately document maintenance actions, inspections, modifications, and technical directive compliance in applicable aircraft forms, logs, records, and approved maintenance information systems
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), safety, and quality requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Maintenance, modification, inspection, and repair
  • Technical Directive compliance and modifications
  • Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
  • Document maintenance actions per AFI requirements

Qualifications

  • Aircraft Mechanic II shall have a minimum of three (3) years of avionics/electrical experience, preferably on F-15E aircraft, or equivalent experience
  • Fiber optic cable installation, cleaning, inspection, and testing experience and/or qualification meeting MIL-STD-1678-1D Requirement 1306, SAE ARP5602, and ARINC 805/807-4 preferred
  • Must be able to work day, swing, or mid-shift as required
  • SECRET clearance required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation

  • $39.58/hour + $2.65 H&W

Benefits:
