Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal Product Trainer - Aircraft Maintenance to join our Edwards AFB, CA team. The role focuses on establishing and directing maintenance training systems, delivering classroom and self-paced instruction, and maintaining training records for maintenance personnel and centers.

The position requires strong instructional skills, the ability to write and sustain training materials, and frequent global travel (25%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years; or 9 years of related experience in lieu of formal degree.
• Experience in military or civilian aircraft Avionics or Low Observable maintenance.
• Willing to travel worldwide for at least 25% annually and obtain/maintain security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work under minimum supervision with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including oral and written communication skills.
• Establishing and directing maintenance training systems, conducting classroom instruction, self-paced learning, and practical instruction to provide technical knowledge for safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft and related systems.
• Providing training records management for assigned personnel and work centers.
• Providing formal instructor training to other Maintenance Trainers.
• Analyzing current operating problems and future requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs.
• Writing, editing, and sustaining training material using technical manuals, process documents, and product drawings.
• Guiding divisions in determining training needs and developing their maintenance training programs.
• Establishing and directing maintenance of program-wide training and qualification record systems.
• Maintaining currency in technical developments and training methodologies.
• Initiating and executing small training projects with minimal management oversight.
