What you can expect as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star:

Whether replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, or performing inspections on sophisticated civilian aircraft, no day is the same. Each day offers new experiences and opportunities for growth.

You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Including:
  • Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Removing and installing panels and components.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving aircraft system/component issues.
  • De-fueling aircraft.
  • Engine removal and installations.
  • Operating ground support equipment.
  • Inspecting and evaluating aircraft and components.
  • Assisting in aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing.
  • Maintaining shop facilities, equipment, and tooling.
  • Immediately notifying the Lead Mechanic of any issues related to parts, materials, workmanship, or airworthiness.
  • Providing detailed work progression reports and open items for shift turnover.
  • Properly tagging aircraft components, parts, and panels, and storing them appropriately.
  • Using basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends, and days off.
  • Communicating effectively in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Your Education

High school diploma or equivalent, and an Airframe and Powerplant License are required. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport are preferred.
