Job summary

The Maintenance Controller at JetBlue keeps continuous watch over the airworthiness of the fleet and serves as the single interface between Technical Operations and Dispatch. This role requires real-time monitoring, decisive action, and coordination with front line teams to minimize disruption and maintain safe operations.

Based in New York, you’ll oversee unscheduled maintenance, recovery plans, and the JetBlue deferred maintenance process while ensuring compliance with FAA rules.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in heavy transport aircraft.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%).
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid SIDA badge.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours during day and night operations.
  • Willing to work overtime when operational requirement is needed.
  • May need to acquire and maintain US Customs clearance depending on location.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

  • The Maintenance Controller maintains continuous surveillance over the airworthiness of JetBlue’s aircraft fleet.
  • It serves as the single interface between Technical Operations and Dispatch providing control and direction for maintenance concerns.
  • Provides real time recovery support and technical advice for aircraft that are out of service.
  • Oversees supervision and coordination of all unscheduled maintenance functions.
  • Records delays and cancellations for stations without JetBlue’s staffed AMTs.
