Job summary

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) seeks an Aircraft Liaison Engineer to support heavy maintenance base operations at MROs. You will provide technical dispositions and workflow guidance, including structural analysis and repair options, to minimize downtime and cost.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 2+ years in the field, and strong FAR/FAA knowledge, with willingness to travel as needed. Training begins in Charlotte before deployment to other locations.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• Two plus (2+) years in the specific technical discipline.
• Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM).
• Willing to work a flexible schedule to meet internal customer needs.
• Aircraft/airline/MRO or aviation engineering experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits, including structural analysis.
• Providing work deviation authorization and interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders.
• Offering options for repairing vs. replacing parts to minimize financial impact.
• Providing aircraft system troubleshooting assistance to Base Maintenance.
• Attending daily production meetings and pre-induction meetings to ensure timely support.
• On-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required.
• Coordinating with Engineering Fleet Groups for action and follow-up.
• Monitoring trends and discrepancies; developing typical repairs to reduce repetitive BA requests.

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Liaison Engineer.

Position Purpose:

Liaison engineering supporting heavy maintenance base operations at aircraft MRO's.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Providing technical dispositions (via Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.
• Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders.
• Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
• Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance to Base Maintenance.
• Attending daily production meeting and pre-induction meeting to ensure timely support.
• Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged line aircraft as required.
• Coordinating events/issues with Engineering Fleet Groups for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up.
• Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive BA requests.

As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team, you will meet the following:

Education and Experience Requirements:

• BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
• Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline

Shift:

• Typical shift is Tuesday thru the following Monday
• 10 hours a day (w/additional 5 hours of pay on either end to cover travel)
• 7 on/7 off rotation (no relocation requirement)
• Travel costs covered (i.e., flights, hotel, rental car, etc.)

Location:

The location will start in Charlotte with two to three weeks of training. Once training has been completed, the location will change to one of the other locations listed above. Additionally, the location is subject to change (with an advanced notice) depending on where coverage is needed.
