Job summary

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) seeks an Aircraft Liaison Engineer to support heavy maintenance base operations at aircraft MROs. You will provide technical dispositions, engineering guidance, and on-site support for significantly damaged aircraft, coordinating with fleet groups to drive timely actions.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in a relevant engineering field with 2+ years in a technical discipline, strong communication skills, and knowledge of FARs/FAA policies.

  • Experience performing structural analysis and evaluating repairs

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical dispositions and guidance for issues exceeding published limits, including structural analysis.
  • Issue work deviation authorizations and interpret service documents and Engineering Orders.
  • Suggest repair vs replacement options to minimize financial impact.
  • Assist with aircraft system troubleshooting for Base Maintenance.
  • Attend daily production and pre-induction meetings to ensure timely support.
  • Provide on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft and coordinate with Engineering Fleet Groups.
  • Monitor trends and develop typical repairs to reduce recurring BA requests.

Job description

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Liaison Engineer.
Position Purpose

Liaison engineering supporting heavy maintenance base operations at aircraft MRO's.

Essential Functions
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical dispositions (via Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.
  • Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders.
  • Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
  • Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance to Base Maintenance.
  • Attending daily production meeting and pre-induction meeting to ensure timely support.
  • Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged line aircraft as required.
  • Coordinating events/issues with Engineering Fleet Groups for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up.
  • Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive BA requests.
As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team, you will meet the following:
Education And Experience Requirements
  • BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
  • Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline
Required Unique Skills
  • Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manual (AMM, IPC, CMM)
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needs
  • Aircraft/airline/MRO or aviation engineering experience desired
Shift
  • Typical shift is Tuesday thru the following Monday
  • 10 hours a day (w/additional 5 hours of pay on either end to cover travel)
  • 7 on/7 off rotation (no relocation requirement)
  • Travel costs covered (i.e., flights, hotel, rental car, etc.)
Location:

The location will start in Charlotte with two to three weeks of training. Once training has been completed, the location will change to one of the other locations listed above. Additionally, the location is subject to change (with an advanced notice) depending on where coverage is needed.
