Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Hartford/Windsor Locks CT is seeking an Aircraft Fueler to fuel, defuel and service aircraft at the airport. You will perform simple math to interpret weight and balance instructions and ensure safe, accurate fueling operations while following health, safety and security policies.

This role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, working outdoors in all weather and being available for variable shifts including weekends and holidays. Prior CDL or oil and gas experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English and perform basic math.
• Lift and move up to 70 lbs; outdoor work in all weather.
• Weekend and holiday shifts required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fuel aircraft safely and efficiently using trucks, hydrant carts, and hoses.
• Maintain accurate fuel transaction records.
• Perform daily quality checks and keep equipment clean and functional.
• Ensure proper loading and balancing of fuel; defuel as directed.

Role Purpose

The aircraft Fueler responsibility is to the safe and efficient fueling/defueling and servicing of aircrafts at the airport. You will need to perform simple mathematical functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with regards to weight, measurement and volume to interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions as they pertain to fueling.

This role requires you to maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.

What you will be doing

• Perform fueling in a safe and efficient manner, drive and operate fuel trucks, hydrant cards, and stationary carts to fuel aircraft.
• Responsible for accurate accounting of fuel transactions
• Perform daily Quality Control checks on equipment, maintain equipment in clean and functional condition.
• Ensure the correct loading and balancing of fuel.
• Responsible for defueling aircraft as directed.

What we are looking for

• Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English and perform basic math calculations
• Handle fueling carts and fueling hoses which will require you to lift and move up to 70lbs.
• Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Prior experience preferred including possession of a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the Oil and Gas Industry (preferred)
